Located on the West side of Manhattan in Tribeca, the pier was designed to provide a multi-use experience for its visitors. The park features a lawn for sunbathing and relaxing, a central sport court athletic field and, ecological zones that immerse the park’s visitors in the native ecology of Manhattan before it’s development as we know it today. The project scope consisted of plumbing utilities for drinking water and boat dock hook ups, subgrade build up of geofoam and foam glass aggregate, exposed aggregate and seashell concrete walkways, extensive concrete subslabs structural concrete buttresses and steel posts for the athletic field netting, extensive carpentry, custom steel cable railings and swing structures, soils, precast piers and structural steel walkway, plants, and the install of a tidal deck consisting of a custom-made growing system anchored to a concrete deck (by others) as well as the grasses planted within the growing medium.
