This 5-acre site is located on the West side of Manhattan across from the Whitney Museum of American Art, this site features a variety of spaces designed to provide activities for all it’s visitors. A large mixed-use athletic field is central to the site bordered by walkways with native plantings and seating. The Southern portion of the park features a large boardwalk, lawn area for lounging, a mist trellis to cool off under on hot summer days and, Manhattan’s first beach! The beach being the focal point of the park, it includes custom furnishings, umbrellas, a kayak access ramp, boardwalk and, a meticulously organized custom granite block bank that provides protection from the turbulent waters of the Hudson river. The North shore of the park features a tidal salt marsh with concrete overlooks and seating to provide great views of the city skyline and natural habitat of the Hudson River.
