Construction of the 9/11 Memorial, which occupies eight acres of the 16-acre World Trade Center site, began in March of 2006, six months before the fifth anniversary of the attacks. Dubner was honored to be part of the team that created the largest reflecting pool in the world. The September 11 Memorial reflecting pools, also known at the 9/11 Memorial, are located in the exact footprints of the Twin Towers. It was built to remember those whose lives were lost at the World Trade Center in 1993 and 2001. Dubner provided many of the trees and plantings that adorn the site.
